“ I'm tempted to not leave a review for fear of folks flooding this place even more, but folks have already been starting to get hip to the awesomeness that is Bubby's. The menu isn't crazy extensive but don't be fooled. You'll be super happy with their fried chicken, grits, pancakes, even the Reuben. Also, two words: Mimosa flight. That's right. Be prepared to wait and you'll be packed in. Crayons for the kids - big kids too - and plenty of great music too. Ample Hill creamery is also next door so feel free to try, TRY, to leave room after your meal. ”
“ Great place for brunch Chicken and pancakes are great, Atmosphere is busy but that's what is expected in nyc. Service was good, food is good. Overall highly suggest this place and will definitely go there again. ”
“ When you're a breakfast fanatic, this is the place to come! Homemade breakfast served with excellent customer service! I started off with their Flaky Buttermilk Biscuit (to die for), Bubby's told no lie "Best Biscuits in Town"! For breakfast I ordered 1 pancake (caramelized banana w/ toasted walnuts), the best fluffy pancake I ever had with scrabbles eggs (Swiss cheese), home fries, and avocado toast. Yes it's sounds like a bit much, but every bite was scrumptious! And no I couldn't eat it all, but I'll have left overs! :) To top it off while you indulge in breakfast Bubby's plays all the good ole Motown Jams! If I could give 7 stars I would, thank you Bubby's! ”
“ So, my friend had just said 'Good Morning!' to America and we were in the mood for breakfast. Not realizing that our sense of time was off considering the early call time, some of the options that first came to mind weren't cooperating with our hunger. Needing food, my friend recalled a place she'd try to go upon a recent visit to the city but couldn't get in due to the wait. A quick search online gave us an address and the car service did the rest. Some background: I participated in the taping off of no sleep. Seriously. Literally. Not once in the preceding evening was I ever unconscious. Remember that review of Hotel Hot Mess? Yeah. That struggle was really real. So, that's the first part. The second part was that we were driving from Times Square to the Meatpacking District in the morning. Now, I've been coming to NYC for [redacted] years. Not once have I ever been to the Meatpacking District. I was not ready for the journey, y'all. At all. Over the river and through the woods to grandma's house would have been a faster trip. Between the time of day, distance and CIA-esque sleep deprivation/interrogation I was working off, I was in a DEEP sleep by the time we arrived. When we arrived, I was disoriented, cold and confused. Where were we? Where were the crowds? Why is it so cold? Not having time for my foolishness, my friends ushered me in and we were seated at a table by the garage-style window. Since it was cold, the window was closed but the/my chair was positioned on the slant where the window meets the ground. This made for an awkward eating arrangement. Due to the abundance of tables, it was hard to re-position myself so as not to slide backwards. I made it work but, you know, know beforehand and all that. Like I mentioned, it was cold so that = hot, spicy apple cider. I may have been groggy but I wasn't completely out of it. I declined the option to spike the drink with bourbon (taking the cost from $7 to $14). As much as I really REALLY wanted pancakes and/or biscuits, they weren't gluten-free (duh) and I didn't have the schedule to deal with the day or so I would be out of commission from eating them. But if you can digest gluten without issue, get them. Those who did (at my table) had my full attention and jealousy. That jealousy was negated with my order, though. I went for the huevos rancheros and it was delicious, warm, seasoned, filling, and very satisfying. The eggs were served any way I wanted, the tortillas were corn and the black beans were fantastic. Add to all of this, green (!) rice, avocado and queso fresco and you have one expert way to start the day. Granted, due to the call time, it felt like late afternoon but by the crowds (there they were... and they were as deep as advertised) going to town on pancakes and biscuits, it was breakfast time. We settled the bill (our waitress was the right amount of fun and helpful but not so chatty that the early hour would have forced a side-eye) said our good-byes and hit the road. I was going to take the train but 1.) I would have passed out on it and that's NEVER a good idea and 2.) out here in God's urban country, there was no close by station for me to find. Rideshare to the rescue, as soon as I got back to Hotel Hot Mess, I slept the day away without regrets. Even without my hotel-induced insomnia, I am certain that the breakfast goodness would have knocked me out just fine. I'd do it (the breakfast and morning show; not the hotel) again. ”
“ Bubby's is a popular weekend brunch spot -- made more popular by the Whitney Museum moving next door and the Highline. That said, it's kind of worth the wait so I get it? If you're dining here with a group of friends, avoid decision paralysis and get a pancake flight to share. The pancakes are delicious but there are so many other great things on the menu that you'll want to try as well. My biggest complaint is how tight the tables are but I totally understand that they want to fit as many people in as possible when the line is so long! Pro tip: join the waitlist remotely to avoid spending an hour waiting outside. ”
“ The line is long and it is always crowded on the weekends . Well, it's worth it . The drinks are better than average but the food is da bomb m. Seriously some of the best pancakes around as well as their fries and eggs Benedict . My buddy got the huevos rancheros with the same feedback . If you get nab a rest outside , even better Be prepared to wait if you go on the weekend... Even with reservations ”
“ Grab an outdoor table on a Saturday and this is paradise! You feel like you're on vacation as you feast on thick slices of bacon, eggs and fluffy pancakes with fresh blueberries. The huevos rancheros with cilantro rice and a thick tortilla soaked in egg is also delicious. Big mugs of coffee. A comforting delight. 5 Stars!!!!! ”
“ We stopped in here for drinks at the bar and look forward to returning for food. A classic and comfortable restaurant environment in the trendy Meatpacking area of Manhattan. Our only criticism: it was hard to get the bartender's attention and they were not all that busy. Alas. But we liked the blanc de blanc and IPAs on tap anyway! Let her talk to her Co-workers! They have an ice cream shop right there too! ”
“ THIS is one of my favorite places!! Eye rolling good!! I've been a few times and I can't believe I didn't write a review earlier! For starters we always get the Buttermilk Biscuits! AND OMG... they are too delish!! I want to eat a dozen myself!!! I've seen other tables get the deviled eggs and they look amazing too! I have had the same dinner every time I go! Ugh it's so good I can't even NOT get it! I get the Peruvian Style Roasted Chicken with the citrus sauce. Omg I'm salivating thinking about it! I've had many sides and love all of them!! The Mac and Cheese, the mashed potatoes, the greens, charred asparagus, creamed spinach! Omg!!! I could go on and on!! My family and friends have had their burgers, bacon wrapped meatloaf, fried chicken and pancakes and everyone has always loved what they got!! For dessert I always get the peanut butter chocolate pie! I'd like to try the Banoffee one visit too! Please visit Bubby's! It is really worth it! ”
